At around 10pm on 2 November 2019 the management of the Hilton Metropole took the decision to close our event after several incidents of disorder from members of the audience.
Victory Fights and Kenshiro Muay Thai condemn in the strongest terms the actions of a small number of individuals that led to this decision. Their behaviour goes against the values of Victory Fights, Kenshiro Muay Thai and the broader martial arts community and there is no place for it in our sport or our events.
We would like to thank our event team who worked tirelessly for months to put on the event. We would also like to thank our security team and the staff of the Hilton Metropole.
Lastly, we would like to thank all the competitors who spent so many weeks training, some of who were not able to compete on the night.
Kenshiro Muay Thai is a community and family gym. Over the past 14 years we have worked to create a safe space for all members of our community to train in martial arts, improve their mental and physical health and to find the confidence and strength to reach their goals. We are well known for our women’s and children’s classes.
Victory Fights will come back from this bigger and stronger. Fighters associated with the incidents are banned from VF indefinitely and we will work closely with our security team and future venues to take all the necessary measures to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
Respect is a key part of all martial arts. Sadly our community was let down by the actions of a small number of people that do not understand this but we will not let this undo all we have worked for over the years.
